Crewe Municipal Buildings

About

The new Municipal Offices in English Baroque style were opened on 19th July 1905. The walls and ceiling are panelled with a decorative plaster design of flowers and fruit; this ornamental design is repeated on the ceiling of the staircase.

Tuscan columns in the entrance hall, beautiful York stone geometrical staircase, with marble Ionic columns and a window in Venetian style in the Council Chamber.

Room hire

Rooms are available to hire and can accommodate from 12 to 80 people. On the second floor is the Council Chamber which will accommodate up to 80 people.

There are two large rooms (East and West Committee Rooms) one either side of the Mayoral suite, and a smaller Committee Room off the first landing, which will accommodate 12 people.

Rooms can be hired individually as conference settings, meetings/seminars, for smaller weddings and Canape receptions, celebration parties, small exhibitions, all with various layout options.

Facilities

Use of PA system, Wi-Fi, Flip charts and pens, 60’’ TV Screens on stands, Projector,  — all available on request.

Accessible facilities

Access is via the front of the building from the main street, where the staircase on entrance can split into two levels and one-half lowers to floor level.

Lifts

There is a lift to one side which raises up to the foyer/reception level and will accommodate a wheelchair or pram. There is a lift from the reception area to the first floor.

Toilets

There are toilets on each floor accessible to the hired rooms.

Audio

A Hearing Loop system is available.
